axle back just means the muffler itself but not the piping which goes from the catalytic converter and back.

catback includes all the piping which goes from the catalytic converter all the way back to and including mufflers.

the only difrence on a full cat back system is that it includes piping to go the lenght of the car attaching at the catalic converter. Our cars already have 2 1'2" piping so there is no need to get a cat back system the axle back is good enough.

Cat back= Mufflers and piping

Axle back= Mufflers only (our pipes are fine)

How much HP will you gain when you replace your headers and mufflers? Is it worth the money?

Exclamation

just think of it this way slk the pipes that come out from the engine is headers right then the rest of the pipe from the headers is the catback, while axle back, it is part of the catback but only THE EXHAUST PART.

Cool

Catback is the whole exhaust piping. and the axle is like just 1/3 of that catback...it's the muffler section.

Now I got it but not 100%...

So the catback system includes the catalytic converter? which means that it covers all the piping after header?

or is the catback system includes all the piping after the coverter only...

I think it's everything after the converter rite? Cuz if you actually get straight pipe, it goes from header to the exthust...

Yes it is after the convertor. Hence the name "cat" catalytic "back" to the rear of
the car. It's commonly believed that catbacks offer more power but this is not always the case in fact Mugen through R/D found on some cars this is actually worse because the increased diameter of the piping can negatively affect backpressure which the case for our TLs. Therefore Mugen only made axlebacks.

Axleback is the way to go, because the catback costs more and you have to get muffler work which still costs more , the comptech exhaust and mugen exhaust are bolt on, now that's gangsta ... Just think of the $700 bones you could save with the comptech...
