Audi S4's?
I saw some guy in an Audi S4 today having some fun with his car on the expressway, and wanted to join in. How bad would they kill my 00' TL with AEM CAI? It looked quick and possibly modded.....

it would kill u pretty badly. If it's stock its running 250hp and 258lbs of torque and the torque hits at 1500rpm (thanks to the twin turbo). Its 0-60 goes as low as 5.5sec, and its has an excellent top end (again thanks to the turbo). My friend just bought an S4 and i'm waiting for him to break it in, so we can see how long i can keep up in my Type S.

My good friend just picked up the A6 Sedan with the bi-turbo (as they call it). This car flies...out TL wouldn't stand a chance. But get this, for $800 you can get your computer modded which will boost it's ponies up to 320! Now that's what I call most bang for your buck! And yes, these cars ain't cheap either. Well built..good fit.

tet drove a modded S4
When car shopping, I test drove an '00 S4 with upgraded exaust and a chip and the car was flippin unreal. There is way more car there than driver here. This is the car I really wanted, but being a youngin' and not having insurance for the last year (out of the country too often to own a car), the insurance was WAY out of range (best estimate was 6 grand a year). That being said, I am very happy with the TL.
But I'm still going to get an S4 when I can....

I drove an automatic S4 a while back, and found it was pretty lethargic as compared to the TL....maybe that particular car was an exception but I certainly was not impressed with its speed upto about 70 mph.....maybe the car would be great at higher speeds ??!!
Since I have not driven a manual S4, I assume that the manual cars are much better than the TL in its accelerative prowess.....handling is definitely better than the TL without a question.
Also, the S4, inspite of being dimensionally smaller than the TL/TL-s, weighs in at a porky 3814 lbs (Avant) / 3704 lbs (Sedan), which is roughly 300 lbs heavier than the 2000 TL....
