Hey sixspdbrd, did you ever get your exhaust tips from JC Whitney? You were supposed to give us a report and post some pics. If you did, I missed it; sorry.

Thanks for the quick response. It still looks like it sticks out a bit. You said it's one inch shorter but did you make a side by side comparison? Maybe it's just the camera angle but does it stick out more that the stock tips? Thanks again.

I have the exact same tips. I don't think the insert do anything special, but I think it makes it more sturdy? 
I also think it makes the tip less hot than without the carbon fiber inserts. I don't have body kits. They stick out but I think it looks very nice on it. You get a pretty aggressive look too without the sounds of an exhaust system. I highly recommend them.
