ATTN: Playing CDRs in my 99 TLP

I need to find out which brand and what speed cdr will play with my car. It has been hell buy all kinds of brands. I did notice that the cheap cdr from the computer show works but they take a while to load and a while to continue when I skip tracks. I've had some cds play really well and I want a cdr that will play the same way. Any ideas of what I can do?

I been told 16x or below speed CDR will play better. My old HU was very selective in choicing which CDR to play but I had it replaced underwarranty and the new HU plays everything I threw at it even a 48x fuji cdr which never ever played in the old HU. The brand that works well for me is memorex.

I got sick of that problem and found a permanent work-around solution: Bought a Sony RF CD-changer

I recommend u burn like 2x and 4x and I gurantee the cd will work

Also if that doesn't work use a specific Audio CD-R, made to play Music.. Sony is the best but it gets expensive.

I use Maxell 24x 650 MB cd-r. Has reorder #623110 on the back of the box. These are the gold ones with a light blue bottom surface. I burn slow at 2x speed, disc at once. Stock unit still takes a couple of seconds, but it's the best I've been able to create so far, considering I had some Verbatim 16X cd-r's that would take in excess of 45 seconds to read.

When burning audio CD's, you should always burn at the slowest speed possible. Actually, when burning anything my understanding is that it's best to burn any CD at the slowest possible speed. If you burn a CD at 20x, it will only read well on a player that reads in a multiple of 20 - so if your reader is 48x, it's not going to be able to read the CD at 48x. However, if you had burned at 2x, it can read it at 48x (at least that's my understanding). Audio CD's are read at 1x anyway, so there's no (playback) advantage to burning at a higher rate. If you burn a CD at 16x, your 1x audio player is going to probably have to spin over the same area of the disc a few times to read it properly.

I've found that Maxell CD's work the best in general, and recently I've had luck with Memorex. In the past I've had problems with Verbatim.

Another issue is your writer. I think they're a lot better now, but some writers burn CD's that only they will read. Plextor CD burners are more expense but are one of the most reliable burners.

I have 2000 tl with a stock single CD player. It takes forever for a burned CD to load and change tracks. I put the same CD in my Bose player at home and the Bose unit in the Infinity FX35 and it loads without a delay. What's with the Cd player in the TL, and can it be corrected?
