Talking Attn: NJ residents....you can now wash your car on the weekends

"The washing of a vehicle at a residence is restricted to Saturdays and Sundays. Vehicles may be washed with a bucket and sponge, or with a hose, but may not be washed with a power washer."

Chicago residents:

You can wash your car 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Sorry, just wanted to rub it in. It just amazes me that there are laws like that in this country. I think we midwest residences take Lake Michigan for granted sometimes.

because you dont know lemme enlighten you to as why .....the New York City and parts of New Jersey are currently experiencing a water shortage as our reserviors have dropped way below safe levels ...so water restrictions have been imposed till further notice.....i just heard today that two of my neighbors were fined a thousand dollars each one for washing his car and the other for washing the side walk......i guess if we had as much rain as they did in the windy city we could waste water too.

I'm just grateful that I no longer have to back out of the garage every time it rains.

Here in New York City they have an agency called the DEP(dept of enviormental protection) which u should have there also.... they have patrol cars that drive around looking for these sorts of things....ex. people washing cars, sidewalks, filling pools ect. They once issued one of my friends a ticket for urinating in public...ticket said "" Illegal disposal of Toxic Waste "" .....there is also a number here in NyC that you can calll to report water abuse or waste and the agency will dispatch a car to investigate....so if you dont get along with some of your neighbors you better be discrete in washing your car here as some of the clean car nuts here do...they wash there cars at midnight like i been doin for the past several weeks.
