ATF fluid change QQ?
In the trans fluid DIY thread it mentions something about draining 3qts of fluid then driving the drain the rest of the fluid.
-is it safe to drive with low trans fluid? Or am I just misinterpreting this process?
I have 60k and do not know the maintenance history on the trans!!

you misunderstood
its not scheduled for change until 60,,
but more often- now that we know about these trans- is a good plan..every year or 2 do 3 qts = 1 drain cycle
trans holds a total of 7.3 ,,it will only drain out 3 to 3.4 qts,,at a time- the rest in system use
do NOT drive low on fluid
REPLACE the drained amount with new honda dw-1 fluid from honda dealer
measure amount removed- it varies from 3 to 3.4 with how warm fluid was at the time
replace the correct amount!!! over and underfilled is bad news
see the other trans threads for correct level cking procedure- its not normal!
the 5 minute drive time between drainings is part of an extensive cleaning you should not need to do now!!
for referance:
in that - you replace the drained fluid and drive a few minutes using each gear to push more old fluid thru the system and to the drain, then drain it and replace,,,repeat until all fluid changed..3 or 4 times
That method is if you ever make the mistake of adding dextron3 atf to the TL trans
thats death and must be removed~~
to review buy 4 qts honda DW-1 atf,,its the new formula for all acuras, and better than what we used to run stock -old stuff discontinued

60 kmiles I would be thinking seafoam in the fuel and new spark plugs-ngk Iridium IX
wont hurt to do egr port system/intake manifold cleaning and TB service
usually creates a prob about 75k when it clogs, so get on it early-
see egr diy or the many current threads on subject

deer azine: I dranded 4 qts from the engine and the same from transmezzin.
then I added 1 can seafoam
after 100milze itn start belchin smoke and bukin lke a wild bronko,,is that normal?
How much do I add after I dranded out some more?
