i have been thinking about putting type s springs on my 2000 TL. i think they should improve the handling characteristics while maintaining a stock look. what do you think?

Unless you can get them for free, I would suggest just getting Suspension Technique springs. Around $100, and they lower the car just one inch. Much better handling, too.

Im sure you can find a TL-S owner here who upgraded and you might get them cheap. I think there was a guy a while back who was giving them away but im not sure.
Post something in the type S forum.

That was me giving them away along with the sway bars and shocks for the price of shipping but nobody here wanted them and I just threw them away two days ago. Someone could have had an entire Type S suspension for free but alas no one was interested.

Patrick, I thought it was cheap, too.

I am thinking of what springs to get for my TLS. A buddy that is way into this stuff (in his garage he has a lift, yes a professional one, spring compressors, pnuematic tools... ohhh), and he says Suspension Technique stuff is nice, so I may go with their springs and sways.

SimTypeS, you'd better make sure BEFORE you order that the
price is for all 4 springs and not just for a pair. I was comparison shopping for shocks, and the Acura TL website sells shocks in pairs (front pair, rear pair). But if you go to Comptech's website, the price is for EACH , not a pair (I know this, I asked them myself). I can forward you the e-mail if ya don't believe me. Just make sure you don't get screwed.
BTW, I've checked Suspension Techniques, but I don't see TL springs anywhere (maybe I'm blind, I've been staring at the computer at work all day). However, you can fit the Accord V6 springs, as long as they are 1998 and up.
Personlly, I think H&R springs are the best. Suspension Techniques used to be popular quite a few years ago, but I don't think they are any longer. Just my 2 cents. Good luck whatever
you decide.

Thanks, Patrick. I called Suspension Tech, and asked if they had springs for the TL, but, as you say, the late model Accord springs work. I didn't ask if the price was for all four. I guess I "assumed". haha After looking at other springs, like on this site, they are for front and back. Myself, I would prefer to buy springs made for the TL, not just "the ones for the Accord will work" kind. I had Eibachs on my '92 Accord, and loved how they felt. Seems like everyone is happy with what they have, wether it be Comptech, H&R, Eibach... I had a reputable shop try to sell me Nuespeeds. Haven't heard of anyone with those on a TL/CL, though. Ugh, too many choices. We haven't even talked about sways, yet.
