Anyone with questions about mid muffler and resonator delete see here

ok fellas so first off theres alot of questions from members that would like to do this mod but are unsure, ill try to answer them the best i can through my personal experience on my own car (02 TL-S). my car is mainly stock for now except a injen CAI. when i first did this mod i just had the mid muffler (looks like a shrunken muffler) removed and added straight pipe I was very happy with the sound no raspy ness or anything i just wanted it to be a little bit more aggressive so i went ahead and removed the resonator right after the cat. now here is were alot of people are getting confused because some members on here removed both the mid muffler and resonator and had no tinny-ness sound. On the other hand alot of members including myself removed both and got a horrible sounding noise at about 2grand before the engine is warm. the part that blows is when both resonators are removed and the car is warm the exhaust tone is beautiful, but after about 2 weeks i couldnt stand to hear that sound in the morning lol I then bought a thrust glass pack muffler http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku now after i put on the glasspack there is no more raspyness and the exhaust tone is close to how it was with having both removed just a little more quiet in the higher rpm range (3200-4700). So all in all if your going to do this mod either just remove the mid muffler and call it a day or go with the glasspack to be on the safe side, and if anyone has any questions ill try to answer them to the best of my ability

nice man. I'm about to have my whole piping redone minus the mid muffler/resonator. Since this is so cheap might as well throw it in at the sametime. So where did you put this? Should I just tell them to throw it anywhere between the cat and exhaust? Where did they put yours? thanks

I'm tempted to do this. I just got the comptech axle back installed and its a tad too quiet. I want it a bit louder but dont want to ruin the tone by removing the mid muffler.

nice pants..

and nice sig.. haha

sounds different than what i had on my TL-P

when i got one of it removed and i only had one which was that fat muffler...

it sounded like some riced out honda civic i hear everyday here in Los Angeles..

now i got a resonator put in from dynomax or something and it didn't have that raspy ricey noise but i did get some more resonance... but could've been from my headers..

but that is all old news for me now.. i have some manly grunts screaming outta my pipes..

this is including the glass pack? are you saying you got both removed and they put in the glasspack for 15? Seems a bit cheap But even if its just to remove the 2 and put in piping, that would be such a sweet deal! I"m jealous. one stupid shop two weeks ago quoted me 250 bucks to remove resonator/mid muffler!!
