What type of rim are you mounting these tires on? Well, I did some measurements with my TypeS rims and concluded that the 235s will fit. People are running 225s with no problem, so I imagine that the 235s are okay. Also, there are people that do run 235s, but on 18s.

Let me know if you do get them and if they do fit. I am planning on getting new tires for my rims also.

I ordered the 235/45/17's for my tl-s, and when i got them i was shocked to see how wide they looked... i measured them and you are basically talking about adding an extra .8" of an inch over the 215/50/17(TL-S) or 1.2" over the 205/60/16(TL) stock sizes... and i dunno that we actually have 1.2" or .6" on each side of the rim to play with, because the wheel well is so narrow, so i ended up ordering 225 replacements which i know will fit cuz i have them on the TL.

Also, I made the mistake of saying since they fit CL-S, they'll fit TL-S stock rims, but that may be a big NO-NO! CL-S stock rims are 17x7, while the TL/TL-S rims are only 17x6.5, so you have .5" less to work with an already wide 9.25" tread(235mm). I measured the innermost part of the tire (235/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE730) and its a smidge over 8". so i seriously doubt you can fit them on our stock rims.

Exclamation

Don't forget that Zodiak had stcok rims with a +55 offset and they were too wide for him.

The lower the offset the further from the strut tower the wheels will be mounted putting the tire directly under the outer lip of the fender.

Nate says his +47 offset and 235's will rub with homies in da back, so think where you would be if you went lower than that.

You'll most likely rub, "homieless".

ZodiakTL, just for your info, the 235mm is actually the cross section measured at the widest part on the sidewall, not the treadwidth. This number is like a guide based on a certain width wheel and will vary on wider ar narrower wheels. I also want to add that I tried mounting a 17x8 wheel with a 50mm offset on a 235/45 Nitto tire and it seemed like it had a lot of room (without driving it). Not sure about a lowered car though.
