Anyone here lose tranny after 100K?

Just curious if anyone has toasted a tranny after the extended powertrain warranty expired (7 yrs-100K miles whichever comes first, obviously 7 yrs hasn't occurred on our TL-S's yet). How much does a replacement tranny cost outside of the warranty?

Just lost mine on my 99 TL at 77K. I am sure the replacement is quite expensive.

I know someone did.. at like 107 or 117k miles on their 99TL. Do a search, I think he got a good will from HONDA, but not sure.

Doesn't matter. Just curious who's gotten screwed after the warranty runs out. I'd also like to know the cost of the replacement so we can see how much the value of our cars will drop once they hit 100K.

See if you can buy a warranty for your car. I know you already own your car but there are companies out there that will sell a warranty for a car even though you are not buying a new car. Tha warranty company actually gives a commission to a used car dealership for using their company. The warranty company doesn't get a commission of the car purchase so in their eyes it shouldn't matter if a car is getting purchased or not.

I know of one in the toronto area for $800CAD, and that got your engine covered, and your trannie with no deduction for 2 years / 40,000km.

I figured that might be a little bit of insurance so you won't worry about a large trannie replacement cost.

I lost mine at 163,000 miles and for $1800 I got a new tranny, ECU, alternator and front motor mount, all installed by the dealer. All I said was "I know I have alot of miles but I thought it would last alittle longer".
