anyone have pics of SSM w/ mirror tint?

Does metallic tint fade? I was thinking about getting that for my car since I don't want purple or brown windows after a year or two of fade. I also think the contrast will look nice with black if it is only 20% metallic. Whats your opinion?

I think it is a higher quality than the regular black tint depending on what brand you get. Plus if you wash it with the proper solution you should have no problem.
At night it looks totally black with a slight mirro effect, but during a sunny day it looks alot more like mirror and reflective than at night. I am very happy with my decision.

You can have very little in the front. I don't know if 20% refers to the light that passes or how much is blocked. but you can tint the front slightly just not sure how much

Note that I'm in NYC area
My friend has a 2001 Maxima SE. He has Windows tinted 20% all around except front. He only got a ticket upstate but said that in the 5 borough area the cops didn't bother him.
*This does not mean that the police in the 5 borough area won't ticket you*
I believe I saw on www.tintdude.com that the law stated 72% in the NY state, well come springtime or sooner I'll be having 35% on my SSM

It says NYS front and sides must let 70% pass through. That means You cant really have tint right because they don't make 70%. I think the least is 50%. This sucks but I'm gonna get something light anyway.

you really should be cool with 35%'s
20% might be pushing it a little with the cops, but i live in the flushing/bayside area with plenty of tinted SUVs and ricerockets and what not... and im pretty sure the cops dont really bother people about that. the only thing is, of all the cars i see tinted, i'd say about 70% of them left their front windows alone and just tinted the back.. (dont know how good thatd look on TL, looks okay on SUVs imo)

Whenever I get pulled over (especially at night) I miake sure to roll down my windows right away as I pull over and keep both hands on the wheels to make the cops feel more at ease when approaching the vehicle.

As I am pulling over, radio goes off, windows go down and dome light comes on. While the cop is calling it in before he gets out of the car I have my wallet open clearly displaying my license and badge on my lap and keep both hands on the steering wheel. If I had gum in my mouth I don't let him know or chew in front of them because they then think you have been drinking. Once the officer comes to the window just be yourself, I never get nervous around cops because I have a lot in my family and they are regular people just like u and me right? Anyway, thats my procedure in a nutsell

I hear that some shops won't do it for you (I'm not sure if metallic is legal or illegal). In brooklyn though, the right places will do it for you. On Macdonalds Avenue there is a place (I am not 100% sure about the name or how its spelled or pronounced, its how I heard it from a friend of mine whom I'll be asking again later) Azure. Its a tint shop that I hear is really good in making tints, all types, legal or illegal. If they won't make it for you, look around some more and you will find what you need.
Brooklyn is the shizzle

I have 35% metallics on my car also, and since I have the Black Interior, many actually think I have 20% until you actually place something up against the inside of the glass.
If you have a dark interior, 35% may be all you need.
Member CarfReak got his tiunst done at a place in Nassau not far from Queens, The guy did an excellent job, much better than even my car and I believe it was under $200 using top quality film. Good Luck
