My front bumper is all f'd up with rock chips, pits, peeling paint and a small crack. I've got 140k on it and dont feel like getting a new front bumper and paint job.

I'd rather just pay 125 bucks and get a leather mask to hold me over until i get a new car. I'm not worried about messing the paint up because its already pretty bad.

Anyone have any pics of this setup just so i can see what it would look like?

I know of a TL with a full front mask down the block, I'll try to take a pic and post tomorrow. Too be honest, it doesn't look that good in my opinion... takes away from the front end all together

I wonder if the pain developes the bra mark over time. that is covered parts paint anew and uncovered part slowly fade.

yeah thats definitely not oem and if i was to put the mask on i wouldnt put my license plate on the top, id probably put tie wrap it towards the bottom like some other dudes on here have theirs......and i just think the black mask on my silver type s with black tinted windows has to look better than that.

a new bumper might be 250 painted, but that doesnt include the bumper itself. Im just not looking to spend that much on this car right now.

I need the part that goes on the hood. I'm going to re-paint my front bumper soon and get the damn clearbra. I drive way too much now and the chips are adding up. Grrrrrrrrrr

The thing with the nose mask is you should take it on/off when needed and don't leave it on. Especially if it's raining take it off before it rains. If it's nice out you have to take it off once a week and be sure to clean it and the car to keep from any marks.

Those masks will eat your paint much faster than rock chips and bugs. Either way you wont need a new bumper, just spray the one you have. Do some looking around, check our other cars in parking lots, after a few years the masks look pretty bad and the paint under it will be worse.

When a dude hit my car sitting in the parking lot at work all that was done to my bumper was the paint got messed up and every body shop that his insurance guy got an estimate from said to replace the bumper. It is not smart to paint over old paint or to sand on a urethane bumper. It could get messed up too easily and then youd have to buy a new one anyways. Just buy you a new bumper and get it painted.


fsttyms1---When i was talking to the body shop that fixed my bumper he told me that if my car wasnt WDP that it would only be between 2-300 bux painted but i only wanted OEM parts and so it ended up being dramatically mor exspensive
