i'm running 235/45/17's on stock TL-S rims, and have done pretty much everything u can think off, including running slalom against a bmw 323 and the S4, and the hold up fine. when i'm driving aggressively i take corners at the limit of the grip, until i feel the tires start to slip, and with potenzas u have to be going really fast for them to give. so i would say its safe to be running this combo. also the fact that they are ultra high performance means they have a stiffer sidewall, so perhaps that also helps the tires stay on without a problem, as there is virtually no flex. hope this helps.
