Hey,

How is the lil round metal tube that we plug our cell phone chargers, radar detectors, etc into held into the car? Is that round metal piece glue in or held down by a bolt? Mine came loose

I believe the sides are just a springform clip that snap into a hole in the plastic surround. If your plug is a tight fit it could work the friction fit loose. I believe it just push-snaps back into place. If it won't stay, it's possible one of the side tabs is bent.

oh damn Matt, that could make sense.... I don't think I saw anything on the sides of it! If the glue ever gets undone, i'll definitely look for that first!! The plug being a tight fit could make sense!

I don't have a diagram but when I installed my stereo I seem to recall mine coming loose as well. It was just some kind of screw on system, at least on the 2000. You could take off the side console molding and check it out..good luck

Theres a screw on sleeve that needs to be tightened on the back side of the lighter, just sneak your fingers back there and give it a few turns..
