I'm trying to source a replacement auto dimming rearview mirror for mg 2G TL as the original one finally gave and the liquid inside is all over the mirror. I am trying to see if anyone has fitted any mirrors from other models/brands, or even used a universal type auto dim mirror with no/minor modifications? Thanks!

CP13. Recently was looking for the same thing as on mine the ring around the back had all broken tabs and the mirror flopped around. I couldn't find anything so I purchased one from an auto wreaking yard.

Jon, thanks for the response. I will try to scour around the area. Do you still happen to have your mirrors? Are the mirrors itself in useable condition? If so, care to throw it my way and I will try to see if I can transplant it?

I'm contemplating if I should buy a universal type and see how I can modify it to make it fit. I think it is the bracket that needs modification less so the wiring since ours are already pre-wired. Since these mirrors are known to have leakage problems, buying used will eventually end in the same result... but for me, budget is the key... so the cheapest alternative is my go to option...

I still have the mirror. I can send it to you but the postage is probably going to be high these days. Have you checked for a junk yard in your area. Here is a link Whitetiger5 and Zeta has supplied me in the past. https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com . You click on find your parts, chose the closest yards, vehicle, and the part you are looking for and you can contact the yard. You need to go and remove it yourself. The price would be ~$21 plus any taxes. If I send you the mirror I have it would probably be about $5 less for the shipping.
