Another motor mount replaced

This time it was my passanger side upper mount. Car has 71k on it. The front mount was replaced at 43k under warranty. I took the car in to get looked over because I thought there was too much flex in the motor but couldn't see the tear in the mount.

They changed it thinking I was still under my bumper to bumper warranty but found out I wasn't. haha. I didn't mind paying for it since it needed to get done and it's getting really cold here in NY for me to DIY.

I just really hate that I'm going to have to replace motor mounts so often on this car. I don't want aftermarket "stiff" mounts because of vibrations but replacing mounts all the time is going to be annoying. I asked the dealer if the new mount they installed was improved upon over the original and they said no, it's just a factory replacement. Grrrrrrr

Do they make one for the TL, or have people fabricated them to fit? (engine dampners) I was looking at my engine bay and I don't see where I would be able to put it.

The TL is otherwise a very inexpensive car to operate.... if you want to see expensive repair bills buy a domestic or german car.

Motor mounts... not a big deal.

I'd never buy a domestic or german car. It's just annoying that I'll be having to replace mounts every 40-65k. I expect more from Acura. I replaced a tranny mount on my Integra at 155k, the rest of the original mounts were sold with the car at 200k. My RSX-S needed the damper to eliminate the 1-2 wheel hop/spin.

Thanks Kris, I'll check out the CL side and fix this problem and enjoy the TL much more knowing I won't have to replace mounts as much. In the 45k I have driven this car the only expenses were replacing the battery and brakes. Even still this is a "wear" item and I'm very pleased with the car. I'll get over it. lol
