Another dum quest. for the techs

I was asking the wrong question in the other post. What I am looking for is the VTEC SOLENOID thats located somewhere under the hood. Can somebody PLEASE tell me where exactly is it and whats it look like. THANK YOU

Sooslik,
I haven't looked for it on my tl, however my accord v6(3.0) the solenoid was located above the oil filter on the pass side. If you turn your wheel out you should be able to see it without a problem......

I will check it tomorrow, thanx. I mite need more help, I dont know what I am looking for visually.

He is right, is just above the oil filter on the TL's. Is one of the few components that have electrical power connected to it in that area. So look for a device that has a connector, like the ones for the bulbs(headlight). That is your VTEC solenoid

thanx, do I get to it from the top or under the car. I need that plug.

Under the car. Lift the right side (passenger) Take the wheel out and look on top of the oil filter.

Why do you want to know where the solenoid is located???

I am going to connect a led light to it so it turns on when the vtec engages
