My guess?

Call me dumb, but I'm kinda thinking the $10,000-$30,000 price tag difference.

We get A LOT for what we are paying. I mean you can't even get a 323 for what we get our cars for. Between the room (I don't fit very well in a 5 series even) and the powerplant, we have quite a deal on our hands!

If Honda/Acura can price and sell its cars as expensive as BMW, I'm sure we'll not only be "leading the evolution of the automobile", but also the ultimate benchmark in all automobile class from sub-compact to ultra-luxury full size sedans. God knows how much profits BMW is making from selling at such a high price.

Honda/Acura is leading the automobile market in the value category..A stripped 325 will still cost around the same as a fully loaded TL, forget even mentioning a 5 series..BMW is leading the automotive market in several areas(performance), but it comes at a hefty price.

The pictures I've seen don't look so impressive. I have to wait until I can see it in person. However, I'm sure it is a great car. I'm just not impressed by the looks.

when it comes down to it your always gonna be ahead when you have to spend more money no matter what. I wish Acura made another line is above the Rl, a big car to compete with the 7 series and the Mercedes S. That would be sweet. and of course it has to be in the overpriced region so that it can be in that competitive area

BMW deserves to be the best, you get what you pay for. Of course BMW is going to be superior to the Acuras and such, it's German engineering at it's finest. Acura holds a considerable edge in value and reliability, however.

Anyway, Acura will have a new flagship V8 RWD sedan out soon enough, probably more-so to challenge the LS430 than a 7-series or S-class. They sure have been postponing the hell out of that, though.

using the "good for the money" argument is worthless. that's like saying hyundai would be the **** if it cost more. acura and honda are capable of some of the greatest driving experiences on the planet (nsx and s2000). but they just do not apply themselves and show their best side. they act like losers and putting bad trannies in our cars didn't help...

well most car manufactureres are reasonable and most likely a car is gonna be a hell of a lot better if it takes more money to build it therefore making the price of the car more expensive. See Acura tryies to stay in a lower price range which limits the use of technology and quality in the car.

It is about money. Why didn't you spend the extra $10K - $15K and buy a 3 series?

Every car manufacturer has its hits and misses, including BMW and Mercedes. BMW had its 318 sedans and Mercedes had its 1.9E sedans and A-cars. All of them are slow as hell, let alone talking performance. Worst still, the A-cars were so rollover-prone that the vehicle dynamics had to be completely revised.
