alternator options?

alternator options?

ok tlzine experts,the other day i was on the to know highway when my serpentine belt broke..so after replacing it my altraternator now makes a loud nosie after i let off the accelarator ...i would like to know if i can put a odessey alt or pilot and are the amls higher?

I believe the Odyssey alt amps are higher and fit with no problem.

you can look up the amp specs online in several places, try a search!

auto dismantlers (junkyards) are really good at knowing interchange on parts
call your local one for help
they may even have a good used unit--alts are expensive!!

ck your `ac belt` tensioner--the one next to alt--those like to fail
and make strange noises

ck your current alt and tensioner with a mechanics stethascope, $4 harbor freight tools or under 10 at any parts store
grinding noise= bad

Are you sure the sound is coming from inside the alt? Is it still working properly? The sound could be from mounting bolts/bracket that were damaged when the belt broke. I had a problem with a bolt hole that was stripped.

yea its from the inside guess the bearing is goin bad but before the belt change i was hearing some noise ..guess this belt made it worse ..and its working fine but i also hear a noise threw my speakers while im accelarating
