Alternating Strobe Headlights?
Hi,
I just saw a video w/ a silver TL entering a car meet parking lot and had an alternating strobelight effect w/ the headlights. It was like a police car or a pace car in a race. That effect was so cool. How would one do this mod?

that didnt involve HID's, its simply one strobe in the corner housing and one strobe in the high-beam housing. You seem to not know but strobelights are separate bulbs drilled and mounted into the housing. you don't flash your normal bulbs like that..the strobe bulbs are run by a user-controlled relay. You can set up to like 9 bulbs to run in sequence, parallel, simultaneous etc etc. you can also adjust how fast the strobes blink, up to like 700 flashes per SECOND. You can buy the good kits (Whalen, Federal Signal-same models police use) at http://strobeguy.safeshopper.com/index.htm?981
Some policecars and such also set their headlights to blink but its a very slow flash, not a strobe effect...

Alternating flashing headlights are also illegal in MA and will get you at least a $35 fine and possibly a charge of impersonating a police officer, depending on how the officer views the offense.

$400 that is mad crazy.. My local PepBoys and Autozone too, Ithink have the kit.. Think it is four strobes. You can put different colors
red , blue , green and clear. It has a little controller that controls
the strobe speed, and on/off. I've seen a guy with it on his
Grand Prix, and it was pretty sweet. Altough totally useless!!
Anywayz.. The kit price is about $10-$15 You have to drill little holes in your headlamp housing and that's about it. I'll install them for you for $300 hahah!

I'm not an idiot! I resent that remark. The cheap kit is a strobe,
it strobes, rather brightly I might add, just as well as the one in the video. Plus you don't have to drill as large as a hole. These
things are the size of perfume sample vials. You can go spend $200 on those if you want to! I'm not going to call you an idiot if you want to spend your money on those. I'd just rather save my money, I've seen the cheap kit in action and it works good.
