Well? Am I going to gain 50 hp or what? All this talk about "I can feel the difference" when changing plugs... Whats the deal? Believe it? Or not?

I just installed Bosch platinum+4 plugs yesterday and I noticed a nice increase in throttle response and acceleration. Also look down a little to one of the posts, BNut installed denso Iridium plugs and he has a dyno that proves that sparks do make a difference.

Everyone loves saying how their new plus give them such a kick ad noticeable power increase, but they usually leave out a key factor. They compare some new aftermarket plugs to their old OEM ones.

New plugs will always give you a little better power and MPG than old ones. For true comparos, compare new ones to new ones. Also the TL's come with platinum plugs for longevity reasons, copper tipped plugs wont last as long but they conduct better and will give you very minimal gains.

On the comparison note, my stock NGK R plugs only have about 10,000 miles on them. So in turn they constitue as being new.

Amen...

I don't buy the 10,000 miles old being ok. A well run test is done with 4 dyno pulls (most shops charge a flat fee for 4 pulls).

A "fair" test would be to test the non-stock plugs against out-of-the-box-new-stock plugs and have 4 pulls interleaved. The -S cars, seem to pick up a few ponies on each pull, SAE correct or not.
