Question Air resonator removal

How tough is it to remove the factory air resonator box? I heard you have to remove the front bumper is this true? I just bought a K&N drop in and was wondering if I should remove the box. Is the difference in power noticeable or only the noise level.

I know people that have done it without removing the bumper, but it would make it easier if you removed it. This is what you will be looking for:

It makes a difference in power and noise.

Bitium,
You mentioned yesterday you were going to the track to compare the hi-flow filter w/o resonator vs. CIA. Any luck?

Thumbs up

I did a search and read you could get it off by a: removing bumper b:removing dr. side front tire and even c: simply turning the wheels to the right. Removing the bumper sounds intimidating, but some people swear it is the easiest method. I want to go to the track tonight and any lil bit may help. So Im in a hurry trying to do a free mod, which may or may not make a difference. Thanks for the schematic Bitium, it is very informative.

I was a little afraid the first time I took my bumper off, but its really a no brainer...the whole thing (including removing the resonator, shouldn't take any more than 20 minutes
