I get so worked up these days behind the wheel, cause all these dumbass drivers cant here a regular horn.... well, I think that an air horn would solve the problem! LOL..... How much did of cost you for all the parts? I payed 120 for my PA system. I think it was worth it too. LOL

I agree with Comet... The air horn really helps with the road rage factor... I used the horn yesterday when some dumb bitch in a minivan decided that the break in the median was hers and half of her Dodge was sticking out in the left lane so she got the whole fucking tank discharged on her.... needless to say, she moved.

Yeah, it should work on a CL. i dont see why not... The only down side is that now if i want a real CAI i have to move the damn tank

where. where do i get that one? wow. I used to have one n my 1979 ford f150. It was a rust bucket. I once got turned around going the wrong way in a bank drive through after hours. I came around the thirde turn to find someone trying to go the correct way, but just entering the lane. I tapped my regular horn so she'd know I was there but she decided to punish me for my mistake and blew her horn at me and pointed as if to say, "you are wrong, back up!" ...but anyone knows that a 79 f150 with a camper top ain't easy to back up through a bank drive through lane in the dark so i... flipped the toggle, floored the pedal, dropped the clutch, and laid on the air horn. My back end was hopping up and down, left, rear tire smoking and sqeeling, air horn rattling my teeth! I've never seen a Toyota camry reverse that fast!

good times. good times

AHAHAH I WAS GUNNA DO THAT!!!

Then i decided that since the first basic instinct is to hit the center of the steering wheel, thats what i decided to go with. The horn i got, there was a model avaliable that had the lanyard valve. i was going to run that bitch right up next tot he drivers oh-shit handle ehehehehehhehehe

Hmm... I'm flying into Orlando on Monday... I bet if you honk the horn I might be able to hear it all the way from tampa? lol.... I'm so going to look into this. I dont even know how one works... you said something about a tank, well after you use the horn does it need time to "re-pressurize" or something?

Yeah since the horn works on air pressure, it has an air tank and air compressor in the whole scheme of things... I get a good 3 seconds before the tank's pressure is too low. When full, the tank has about 160 PSI. The compressor kicks on at about 110 PSI. Figure about 30-40 PSI per second when using the horn... Takes about 2 minutes for the compressor to fill the tank from 50PSI to 160Psi...

If you guys are worried about size or the tank, I got one of these horns for my Goldwing motorcycle. It's compact, no tank and wicked loud.

Dark and experts:

Are all airhorns created equally?

Man the second i saw this post...

wooo...

Anywho...i'm putting this badboy in before i start my drive back to MD (currently 3000 miles away in WA).

Question for Darkshear: Did you use the existing TL relay to power your horn or are you actually getting a separate switch?

Poll: 1) air horn, 2) normal horn with air horn switch, 3) both horns concurrently

I think if i was behind someone and I honked they would break because they'd have no idea where it was coming from...that would be so incredaunbombay.

he has it hooked to his normal horn, but has a toggle to switch it on or off. id use a relay off teh normal horn leed to trigger it.

The air horn has a solenoid to engage it. The "+" conductor on the solenoid is connected to the factory horn wire, and a toggle switch. This way, when pushing the horn, it can either engage the factory horn OR both. I wanted it this way since the first instinct is to slam your fist in to the center of the steering wheel :P

Oh, just FYI, in the beginning, the toggle switch was always set to "OFF" but I realized that im wanting to use the air horn MUCH MORE than the factory horn, so now it just stays on eheheheheh...

Congrats malayalee, welcome to the club Since mine is air powered, its going to be a little louder than the one you picked up, but yours should still do the job

Oh funny story for you all... I pull in to the service drive of my dealer yesterday, had to pick up some bulbs. I'm parked right in front of the sales windows, in plain view of everyone. As i walk past the service bays, i see my buddie who is a tech and say "Hey Jeff, theres something wrong with my horn, can you check it out?" tee hee hee... As he is walking over to my car to "test" it, i tell the service manager whats about to happen. Hes like "oh god i have to see this". So we are standing inside the building, watching him walk up to the car, and BBBOOOOOMMM ahahahahahah... The service manager, Chip, just didnt think the one blast was enough. So he goes out to the car, and totally discharges the ENTIRE air tank, right there in there service drive. As the deafening sound fills the service drive and the sales floor, I wondered if that was such a good idea

You guys just be careful. We had an older man (62 or so) here in central FL that yelled "slow down" at a car in his neighborhood that was going fast within the last two weeks.

The car stopped and some people got out. Some words were exchanged and the old man was shot.

Be careful deciding on how you use their horn. The wrong person may certainly make you pay for blowing it.

yeah im pretty carefull... Im actually using the horn much less now, because i have to carefully select who i blast it at, and whos around me at that exact moment... If i deem it unfit to use, i simply do not horn at all... obviously if i saw a car full of thugs i would not do it, but if some hoe on a cell phone and smoking a cigarette and putting on makeup and eating a burger all at the same time comes over on me with her oversized SUV, im blasting that bitch :P

See I'd want the switch near the horn so I don't really have to reach for it...

Probably what I'll use so no one can see it:

Or I may just have to add it to my switch array under the "not an ash tray"/lighter/power shelf (all my freakin pics were lost last format )
