After new Tranny....
so 1k after a new tranny, the tranny seems fine, but I brought the auto in for a recurring problem with a whinning noise.
Whinning noise = new a/c compressor.
Seems that the A/C compressor was failing, and was increasing in pitch and level of mechanical whine, it got to the point that it was so loud that it was audible during driving, and with music (not loud) in the background.
Something for the rest of you to keep an ear (no pun intended) out for.
Also brakes are being replaced. They turned my rotors at 5k, and at 8.5k they are warped again. A quick check of the service logs showed that they didnt change the pads when they turned the rotors before, so I mentioned the TSB, requiring a change of pads when you turn the rotors, and upon investigating the actual work done then, the service advisor just said, you get new pads and rotors, and you will get them now.
I hope that I finally have gotten rid of the bugs in this car... fingers crossed!

Wait, a whining noise? I have one and never paid much attention to it but it also occurs when the AC is off so I guess thats not the problem. Anyway, warranty is up so I'll just live with that I have

I also had a whinning noise that came from the idler pulley.
It was a speparate issue, different whine, fixed at the same time they did the tranny.
The whine from the a/c compressor was only happening when it was engaged, the idler pulley was constant.
both whines were confirmed with other vehicles, on the lot, by confirmed, I mean that the other vehicles didnt have those whines.
Both whines got higher in pitch as the revs went up.
