After 10 years and 272,500 miles...

I've decided to trade her in this week on a 3rd gen TL. Been a great car with no regrets, but front left corner is smashed in (not visible) and air bag system is bad and at this mileage I don't want to put any more into it. Son did the damage, I still have my CL-S.

You put a lot of miles and usage on her. Congrats on getting the 3G! Make sure to post pics of it.

Congratulations on your 3G! I loke the body style of the 3rd gen TL much more than the 4G.

Did you get much for the trade-in?

What exactly was wrong with the airbags?

Did the original transmission make it to 272K miles?

(The original transmission in my 1999 TL failed at 173K miles.)

SRS light is on, and the original tranny made it to 164Kmiles, still on second tranny. Haven't traded it yet.

Enjoy the new ride. I did have apprehensions of the 3rd gen when it came out, but it grew on me. Compared to the monstrosity of the 4th gen ... the 3rd gen looks like a beauty! (But I do still like the looks of the 2nd gen ... even if they are everywhere!)

I agree 100%. The crease down the door handles has always bugged me but otherwise is a great car. You couldn't give me a 4th gen, I'd sell it.

I agree with you guys also. The 2nd gen has a nice smooth look to it, the 3rd gen is more the wedge look, but I like it now that it's been around awhile. The last 3rd gen, the 2008 Type S, that's a beautiful vehicle.
Good luck with your 3rd gen, my 2nd gen only has 87K on it, but I'll be trading it in for a 3rd gen eventually too.

Post pictures of your new one......

No Trip A was not a fuel thing, just random miles.
