Question AEM POWER PULLEYS

Has anyone installed the AEM power pulleys? Were there any obstacles during the installation? What was the installation time? Has anyone read anything about what horsepower/torque gains can be expected?

Thanks!!!

I think a couple of guys from the TL forum have installed them. You trade off electrical power for HP. For more details, search in there!!

Juniorbean - Thanks for the reply! I'm hoping the higher output of the TL-S alternator will combat any low-charge conditions that the TL crowd is talking about.

I'm going to drive over to AEM right now to pick up a set. I'll post my review soon

Thumbs down

I did. It was a pain to install, but that is because it was the first time I install pulleys. It should be easier with good instructions....AEM instructions suck. It should take you about 2 to 3 hours to install. Plus you are going to have to take the alternator to a shop to remove the pulley and put the new one.....is very tight.

Bitium - Can you actually tell the difference in performance? Is the loss of charging significant?

I have the best set of instructions in the world....the factory shop manual The alternator pulley is just swedged on, and I have a hydraulic press.

I went to AEM today. They claim 15 hp at the wheels from the cold air induction, and 6 hp from the pulleys. Any thoughts on how accurate the AEM estimates are?

Thanks again for all of your help!!

I don't know how accurate AEM is. I don't have a dyno. It made my car peel off after I install the pulleys that's the only different I felt or that I can prove. Well good luck, I think the pulleys that they make for the TL type S are different than the ones I got for my TL. I have the ones they make for the accord V6.

BTW there is not problem with lights or any electrical component.
