Question AEM CAI vs AEM Short ram

What are the advantages of each one?
Which one would you buy and why?

sri - cheaper, easier to install, less power, less noise?
cai - exact opposite

I think the short ram is more nosey at lower rpms, while the CAI just roars at WOT. I think the short ram is good for the streets, CAI for the track.

So short ram will give more power at lower rpm compared to CAI which kicks in at high rpm?

not true for overall better performance the CAI is better....because cold air makes for better combustion. The short is more for high speeds were there is air circulated thru the eng. compartment from speed. The CAI will give you cold air all the time....

alexd, it does make sense. thanks.

If i get cai then, do i need to get bigger exhaust to let all the air out?
I mean tl has dual exhaust but it isn't true dual exhaust. It just splits into 2. So would I notice much power gain even with just CAI?
