Question AEM bypass valve question!

Is the bypass valve necessary for normal driving in rain, or if car goes thru car wash? Or is it more if you decide to cross a river in your TLS?

I think more for if you plan on doing any river wading in your TLS I've driven through some heavy southern california rain (what an oxymoron LoL ) w/o a bypass valve and no problems yet....but as long as you avoid deep puddles and heavily flooded areas you should be ok without one

That makes me feel a little better. I was under the impression that it was an absolute MUST HAVE, but i guess not. Good, i can wait a little while until i get it. Thanks

Not a necc. at all

Richard - I've ran two cars with CAI's and no bypass. Regular rain driving, and car washing is not a problem. The bypass is just a bit more insurance for those unexpected moments (i.e. flash flood and you've got no option but to "cross the river.")

Don't fret it. Install if you want, but not an emergency situation.

Jim

BTW - Did you notice I re-oiled the filter before I shipped it to ya! It did need that. Water get's down there and washes off the oil, so be aware. Prob. a good ideal to check every 3-4 months for re-oiling.........

I did notice that, I was wondering if you did that or if it still had its original lube! Thanks!
