The Eternal Blue looks very similar (only slightly darker) and is available on older non-Type S models.

The non-Type-S blue is similar to Aegean Blue Perl. Lighting conditions may make it look the same.

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper if the guy just got the TL Type-S in the Aegean Blue Pearl than spend thousands of dollars repainting the TL-P...

The only other explanation I can think of is it was a Canadian car. I believe they can get ABP in a TL-P, and with the parchment interior as well as ebony. Someone from up north correct me if I'm wrong.

But that'd be a hell of a drive from Canada to south FL.

I was at the dealer

a couple weeks ago and they had an ABP with tan leather interior that was just a TL. I even looked at the sticker to make sure that it wasn't a Type S.

str8acura,

I too saw a non-Type S ABP TL. At first I thought it was the Type S model. After I pulled up closer, I didn't see the badge and I notice the 16-inch wheels. I know for sure it was not the eternal blue. I saw it in bright sunlight.

FYI, they only offer the ABP in Type-S here in Canada.

Maybe the guy got in an accident and had to repaint a good portion of his car and decided to just switch colors...

It probably was Eternal BLue Pearl, and not Aegean. Check on the website or at the dealer. The Type-S does not come in EBP.

The colors are very similar, especially when dirty. Even I sometimes think EBP is ABP sometimes, and I own an ABP TL-S.

The car you saw is Eternal Blue Pearl w/Parchment interior. In Canada they offer this color in TYPE S Trim. But NOT in the US.

I see a Eternal Blue TL-P almost everyday down my street.

Maybe he got into an accident and repaint the whole car
OR
He bought the eternall blue and regreted it that he didnt get the ABP and decide to repaint the car. I think it would be cheaper to repaint the car than to trade it in for another one.

str8acura, I for one am not doubting what you saw, since most of us on this board are Acura enthusiasts and can tell one from another. However, since every dealer I have ever talked to, the Acura web site, and even Acura's own brochures say that ABP is only available on the Type-S, I can only say either it's a repaint or it's a debagged Type-S that is running 16" rims for some reason. I'd say winter rims but that usually doesn't happen in FL, right?

Well, here is the most easiest way of telling. Did it have PARCHMENT or EBONY interior?

If Ebony, then it's ABP w/ 16" wheels.... o_O*

If Parchment, then it's definately EBP. Ebony is not offered for Eternal Blue.

I was behind a TL just the other day.. when I rolled up to it at a light I thought someone had stolen the Type S badge as it was (I thought) ABP. Looking closer, I saw that the 3.2 TL logo was too far to the right to have ever had a Type S badge, but it looked JUST like ABP (it had just been washed)-- until they turned the corner. The light reflected off the side of the car and it was clearly darker than ABP, although EBP and ABP look similar in certain conditions.

I saw the ABP TL twice around my area, it wasn't a quick glance either, I was following it for a few minutes. I wasn't paying attention to the interior. This was a few months ago, but I hope I bump into it again. I know the difference between the 2 colors, and it was NOT an Eternal Blue.

The easiest thing to do is call your local acura dealer and ask if they sell ABP TL-P. I think people just want to have the Type S look but can't afford it at the time they purchase the car so they paint it later on. Or they got into a accident and painted it that color.

You cant tell the difference between the two colors in a picture unless you have a reallly good camera.
Plus, the lightning and reflection will make the two colors almost identical in a realife photo.

When I bought my car, ABP was only available in Type-S with Ebony interior. I'm almost 100% positive its still the same.

It is still it. ABP and Green only come in Type S. That is why I bought the ABP because I wanted it to stand out. I just bought my car in the beginning of August.
