Acura "UD" 3 Series Fighter - March 2003
I recently came across this link on Vtec.net describing early indications that Acura is working on a 3 series fighter due out March 2003.
Do any of you, in all your discussions with Acura dealers, have information, rumours, etc about this vehicle?
I work with a former employee of Honda of America who thought this vehicle may use the AWD system from the MDX.

Thanks.

I heard that this was being worked on.. but I heard nothing about it beyond that. I seriously doubt it will be released in March of '03 considering that this thing hasn't even hit the show circuit yet. There is a possibility they'll announce it in Jan. and release it in March like they did with the CL and TL, however, all indications point to Acura going back to their fall release schedule.....

Photos!! All efforts should be made to get our hands on those photos.
I am driving a 1997 CL 3.0 and have been very close to buying the TL-S, but I want to hold out for this supposed "UD" car in March next year.
I am also waiting to test drive the new Mazda 6 due out in December 2002. I like the looks of it but something about owning a Mazda deters me. The engine is also ford sourced and lacking considerably in torque (202 ft. lb.).
I am hoping that this "UD" car is roughly the size of the 3-series, with projector headlamps, rear or AWD, and more agressive looking than any Acura to date.
I think we all know that the current gen CL just does not cut the mustard in terms of looks, let's hope Acura has something serious brewing with this car.

I never, ever trust dealers.... you all should know that by now. They make sh!t up as they go.
Not saying it isn't going to happen... but why would only certain dealers have secret photos of it? Why wouldn't all dealers have information on it? I mean, it's funny b/c there were people on here who had put down deposits on a 6speed TLS around the time the manual CLS was due out b/c the dealers said that it was coming out and they have VIN numbers..... I just don't buy it until
I see some sketches, spy photos, or hear something from Acura. I certainly wouldn't make my car purchasing decisions based on info like this....
