Acura TL-S Model/Replica/1:24 Scale Car

Does anyone on the forum know where I can get a model car of the TL-S? I have been looking endlessly for about 3 months now, but no luck. Closest I got was finding the Acura RSX model cars. Please any info on where I can get these scale cars would be greatly appreciated. :(

What do you guys think?... Am I the only person who is interested in finding a TL-S Scale/Model Car... Tell me what you guys think... :D

BlackShadow 12-17-2002 10:15 PM

Trust me when I say that you are not the only one looking for a scale model of a 99+ TL/TL-S.:D

I have been looking for almost 4 years now (ever since I got my 99TL back in Dec. 98).:(

So whoever finds it first, PLEASE LET ALL OF US KNOW ASAP!!!

dtxxx80 12-17-2002 10:42 PM

Come on people... someone has to know... Share the wealth...

greenpelikan 12-18-2002 01:20 AM

I have asked a few hobby shops who specialize in Japanese imported scale models and they haven't seen any Sabres or Inspires. I will share if I find out if there is one.

dtxxx80 12-18-2002 04:06 AM

Thanx... I hope someone finds out where to get one... Hopefully, when/if they do they will tell all of us. Until then, I will keep looking too... I wonder if there are any stores where they can customize it for us?

juniorbean 12-18-2002 08:27 AM

I've also been looking... checked out a bunch of domestic suppliers as well as Japanese and no one makes a TL right now. No CL either.

dtxxx80 12-18-2002 04:48 PM

I'm pretty sure someone makes it. Probably some no name place. We will find it... (Hopefully)

Kramer 12-18-2002 09:02 PM

I have seen an RSX but no TL-S and I have looked everywhere.

Edub-TL 12-18-2002 09:26 PM

it might help if you look for the Honda Inspire or Saber as well

Sup folks. I just got off the phone with one of my buddies and he might make a custom TL-S for me. I get to make all the details. Every little thing I want he can make. He does custom diecast models as a hobby. I'll let you folks know as soon as I get an okay from him. I'm paying him $300 cash to make one for me.:D

I forgot to mention the model will be in 1:18 scale. I anyone has anymore question about diecast models let me know. I collect them as a hobby also. I have over 600 cars, 50 trucks/SUVs, and 30 motorcycles. More to come.:D

Hey Snapple, hook us up man. The $300 price tag is a bit steep though. I, too, have been looking for the longest time. See if you can get a better deal if more members on the forum are interested.

I agree, $300 is steep. But I am pretty sure a group buy will lower that price.:D

I also saw an RSX and S2K but no TL.:(

Hmmm, the skill, time and hours needed to build a nice model from scratch is the sole reason it costs $300.

Unless he builds the molds and casts them in large amounts while putting it together with rather simple details (painting/# of parts, etc), it will prob stay high and be limited in quantites.

It all depends on the complexity of the custom TL scale model he's building.

snapple, does your friend have a website with pics of some of his creations?

Hell, if he can sell me the cast body, I can do the rest myself. It was my major talent as a child/teen.....too bad I just don't have the time it required anymore:(

snapple 12-19-2002 01:51 PM

No web site but I do have pics of his creations. Give me some time to find them. Also the reason it will cost me $300 is because I am getting a TL-S made the way I want it. Rims and all. I will talk to him and see if he is willing to make a batch of TL-S, CL-S,and RSX-S, and maybe the MDX. It will take some time folks. I'll keep you updated.:D

I've seen the RSX and the MDX available... but never the CL-S or TL-S... so maybe we should focus on that. If I could get a scale model of my car I would pay for it no doubt :) . Not sure about $300.... but I would pay a decent amount!!

car_lost 12-19-2002 03:56 PM

id pay up to a $100... about how big is 1:18 scale?

dtxxx80 12-19-2002 03:56 PM

300 bucks is really a little too steep for me.

Holly smokes!, three months is a long time to "endlessly" look for anything! Good luck, I think Tamaya has quite a list of cars to choose from. Try the web under "Tamaya Acura TL".

juniorbean 03-11-2003 03:01 PM

Nope... this thing is pretty much dead.

You can buy the Euro Accord if you want since it's basically a TSX... but there's still no TL.
