Acura Plus Plan

Yo guys!

Is the extended security plan of Acura really worth it?
It will cover most parts of the car for its first 7 years.
I'm really debating here, I mean adding an extra 2 G's is a substantial amount of money!

However, this guaranty DOES NOT COVER:

- Radiator
- Shift Cable for automatic Transmission
- Oxygen Sensor
- Complete exhaust system
- Shocks/dampers
- Bearings
- Rotors

PLEASE GIMME SOME ADVICES!

I bought the 6 yr/100,000 mile extended warranty for $1,140. Obviously I think it is worth it, but some people like to let it ride. The reason I got it is that it does cover electronics and seats. It you were to have a problem with your electronics, seats, or transmission, it would easily pay for itself. I asked a lot of people about it and the respose was split as to get it or not.

Just a suggestion, shop around. You don't have to get it at the same dealership you buy the car. I bought mine at a different dealership owned by the same company and got it for $700 less. If it isn't a new car and you have to pay out of pocket, Acura has 12 month no intrest financing.

Extended Warranty

Dude,

The dealer explained this extended warranty to me but I guess I zoned out.

When is the longest that you can wait and still exercise the right to extend your warranty? A month before the original expires or something like that? If that's the case...I'd WAIT and see how the car is in terms of problems.

I recommend waiting until the factory warranty has about 6 months left, then purchasing a third-party warranty. I bought an Auto Advantage warranty for my 97 Accord last year for $1000 which covers everything but the interior, body and glass for 5 additional years or 50,000 additional miles. I've used it to cover a blown transmission--which cost $2000--so I'm $1000 ahead!
