Acura to pay my car payment while car is in the shop awaiting tranny...
I spoke with someone with Acura Customer Relations today to complain about my car and see if there was anything they could do. First of all, the guy was a jacka$$ who really didn't seem to give a damn. I won't go into the specifics but I told him that since I was going to be without my car for at least a month, the least they could do was pay for my car that month. He agreed. He asked that I send him a copy of my payment coupon and they would reimburse me for it.

that's good to hear. probably you went through a lot of hassle with that jerk, but at least you got them to agree on the deal. did you get any sort of confirmation or the same of the guy you spoke to?

Yes! Let us know what number to call. Since my owners manual is in my car, I can't get to it.
Did you ask him about a free extended warranty? How about extending the real warranty for the time you are without the car.

Glad to hear you're getting some compensation dealing directly with Acura. Stay on 'em, it sounds like you are on the right track.
BTW, check your e-mail if you haven't already. I sent you some info and thoughts on VA's lemon law.

I called Acura's customer relations number -- 800-382-2238. I told the rep my situation and my dissatisfaction. He was very polite and helpful and told me someone would get back to me in a few days, which they did yesterday. This was a different guy than the one I talked to originally and he was an a-hole.
I just told him that my business pays for my car but only when I get reimbursed for mileage. If I'm not driving it, I'm not getting paid and the car must be paid for from my own pocket. Surprisingly, he didn't argue with me.
I would suggest just telling whomever you talk to that if you don't have your car, you shouldn't have to pay for it, even if you have a loaner or rental car. If my loaner were exactly the same as my car, maybe I'd feel differently. The fact that it isn't just adds do my suffering and my dissatisfaction with Acura.
Maybe if everyone starts doing this, Acura will get on the ball and fix whatever is wrong or at least get it done faster. Probably not but it makes me feel better thinking that. The money is just chicken feed to Acura, but let's say 30 people a month are having their trannies replaced, that could be as much as $15000 to $20000 a month in car payments alone.
