Acura Paint Jobs from Factory

Guys,

I was curious about something...i was at the dealer yesterday and they had a couple of blue '05 RSX-S' on the showroom floors and i walked up to them and was looking at the paint...first thing that came to mind was that..wow, this looks like crap. Second was that how can they be painting them this bad. It was like i could almost see paint streaks or waves under the clear coat. It almost looked like a $500 crappy Maaco job. My 02 TLS sliver looks very nice and smooth so i walked over to the other one and it was the same. I guess th dark colors or the lighting could have given this look but wow, i wouldn't have bought them after looking at that. Any of you guys notice that?

The RL's they had on the floor were very clean, nice, smooth, and even like a paint job should be.

Comments?

I have noticed that also on a classmates new RSX. His paint looks awful but of course I didn't say anything. I know some of the 3 G TL's are also having problems with Acura's paint quality.

This is really strange since you think Acura would have this on the top of their list...it's one of the first things you notice on/about a car is the paint. Some people go for tires/rims, but i'm all about paint at first glance. When i saw the blue on the '02 TL on the showroom floor for the first time i was like ->

Its because of the switch to environmentally friendly water based paints.

yup...totally agree....the DAY i brought my TLS home my friend and i were checking it out in the garage and the paint was terrible....there was dirt and all sorts of shit in the paint....not the CC...there is crap in the paint in a lot of places.....there's paint drops all around the mirrors......the edges of my rear bumper look SO FREAKIN blotchy almost like i got hit, and repainted it myself with a damn spray can.....

yeah that's a big A+ for paint quality for acuras....
