Oil Filters

Acuras use Honda oil filters. The "stock" Honda oil filter for our Tls is part # 15400-PCX-004. I use the oversized Honda S2000 filter which is part #15400-PLM-A01 - it has a bigger housing, more filter element and allows the engine to run slightly more oil. Either can be used on TL.

As to your question on how good the Honda filters are, check out the following oil fitler review:

200,000 trouble free miles with fram. There is no need to buy honda filters. They are in essence relabled filters you can buy in a store. Do some searching, this has been covered alot

I agree with Kris, although I take my TL to the dealer religiously for oil changes. I got my oil changed and my tires rotated yesterday for 39.99 after tax. When I go in for oil changes they do it for like 25 bucks with the wash and vacuum, and compared to like 35 bucks at Jiffy Lube, I will stay at the dealer. Besides, it just gives me peace of mind. Call me crazy, but I think I get a great deal at the acura dealer when it comes to oil changes.

Thumbs up

I always get a mobil one filter from autozone and then get my oil changed at Wal Mart lol and they discount me the crappy one they were going to use. I do this once every six months...

Prior to doing this... I would use Amsoil, which is great stuff, just pricey and I would drive to the Distribution Center to get it. Hence, I got lazy and walmart is cheaper for mobil 1...

Change it regularly and any filter will do. Personally I use Fram.
