Well where do I begin?

Let me state this: I have owned a 1980 Honda Prelude, a 1991 Honda Civic, a 1995 Honda Accord EX, a 1997 Acura Integra Gsr, a 2001 Acura Tl, and a 2002 Acura Rsx Type-S and just recently a 2003 Acura Tl-Type-S.

I have been pleased with most of my Honda cars, but starting with the RSX, I have noticed the quality of Honda/Acura vehicles to be lacking in the quality that I have previously enjoyed.

My first problem with a Honda/Acura vehicle was my 2002 RSX Type-S. It was burning oil like crazy. My Acura dealer rebuilt my engine with a short block and I will never know how that turned out as an idiot cut me off on the freeway causing me to hit my breaks and ending up in a spin. As a result I hit a retaining wall doing 70 MPH. I totalled the car and am happy to be alive. POS RSX. Should have never happened, my 1997 Integra GSR would have never done that to me!!!!! Now my wife said, " No more little cars". Well I thought, her car. a 2001 TL has been a very good car, so why not one of those. The dealer had a used, and I mean just used 4600 mile used Tl-Type-S. I bought it and have had transmission problems for the entire time I have had it. :banghead:

I just brought the car in for the 7500 mile checkup and the tech told me the tranny was toast. They ordered me another and it should be here by next week Wed. and the replacement should only take a day. Great, but what the hell has happened to Honda. I think this is the very last Honda/Acura vehicle I will ever buy. Hell, I even own a Honda lawnmower.

Well, I have vented, but my problem with Honda/Acura is one of quality vs. profit will never be resolved. I am never going to buy a Honda/Acura product again. These cars should have been recalled day one, when Honda realized they had produced a lemon of a tranny.

I know no car is without problems, but, Honda has had enough information as to the frailties of their transmissions to make a real faith effort to recall these vehicles, and make an error on there part right. But no, they continue to screw over the people who have had faith in their products and continue to sell and certify used vehicles, well knowing there is an inherent problem with these vehicles.

It is one thing to make a profit, but totally another to make a profit at the expense of another. I am all for making money, but ignoring a problem that causes a buyer time, money and risk of injury or lifeis criminal.

The big problem I have with all this is, the car overall is fine!!!!! Why in the hell would a company like Honda do this? I will tell you $$$$$$$$$$$$$

look at the bright side, we get free transmissions and a rental/loaner... they take care of you.

There's rumor about Acura recalling the TLs for its tranny in a year? ..two years?

The whole quality issue has led me to the same conclusion, no more honda/acura for me.
