I'm trying decide between an Accord and TL, and if I can afford it, the TL is the clear choice in my mind (have test driven and fallen in love with it) I'm looking at 01's (non Type S's) with ~30k and trying to get a price as low as possible from the Acura dealers. I'm trying to get as much under 20k as I can, anyone have any idea on how successful I'll be with Acura in haggling a low price? If anyone has purchased an 01 recently with similar mileage the prices you were quoted and maybe the prices you got would be very helpful. Thanks a lot for this forum, I found it today and it's been terrific in my research. I know there's no way I can swing a Type S for that price...but I'm holding out hope I get a desperate dealer...

 

hey man i bought my 2002 type S w/navi and premium wheels,tint,xllnt cont. 6 month ago for 22.4k at valencia Chysler which is right next door to valencia acura where the car was originally bought and serviced. It had 30k on it but the original michelens had half tread left on them(driven conservativly). point is dont settle for less if you want the "S". the exact same deal today should be much closer to your 20k budget,and if you dont want navi well there you go.

i bought my '00 in march, they are usually flexible w/ sticker price on pre-owned....thing is if you buy a certified pre-owned from an acura dealer ur gonna pay a little bit more than what you would pay from a private seller or another non-acura dealer

 

I know this is probably in the forum somewhere, but 00-03 TL's are ALL covered by the 7 year 100K powertrain (including tranny) warranty correct? They do not have to be Acura certified preowned to qualify for that I'm assuming. Anyone else in St. Louis to reccommend one of the two dealerships in St. Louis, Dave Mungenast or Frank Leta?

You guys are making me feel violated. I paid 21K for my 99 TL in March of last year. It's in mint condition, was a certified pre-owned, and had 31k on it. Did I get ripped or something?

 

Thats why i looked on a non-Acura lot they really dont know or care what the goin price is on it,they just know what they have into it. BTW there was no bickering involved i E-mailed the sales rep. on the car w/an internet price of 25k which was just over wholesale on it at that time. He called me back and told me he could sell it for 22.4k, I drove it and was signing papers within 1 hour + carfax report whatever thats worth.
Nope the 7yr 100k mile warr. is only on the tranny. our cars come with 4yr 50k warr no exta powertrane warr after that.unless its a used certified car which extends the original warr.to 7/100k
