Acura dealer Parts REFUND POLICY ??
I went to my Acura dealer this morning to retun a $172.19 part and they took it back no problem, told me to go upfront and run the credit. Then the lady told me that they couldnt run a -$172.19 transaction but if i went back to parts they'll take care of me....i thought to myself "godamm here go"
... Got to parts and the guy told me to write my name address and info, did something on the computer printed a ticket and told me they were going to mail me a check?? Whaaat? the guy said it was policy. i thought it was wierd asked him to give me a copy of the original receipt, atleast three other people in parts agreed with this policy, the guy put the slip i put my info on his desk and said thanks for coming bye bye.
Now i'm thinking and i dont want another problem with everything that's going on right now (btw, those who read my control arm or ball joint thread and remember...well i got T-boned last week and that's why i'm returning the part since i'm having all these repairs done through insurance) Neways, anyone else find it wierd or think that i might have gotten screwed by Acura???!?!

First
How did you pay for the parts.
If by credit card, then they can issue a credit on the spot thru the slide card terminal
If by debit/bank account card, then they would have to write you a check.
Cannot issue a "credit" if there was no charge on that card-- does that explain it?
Keep after the office who writes the checks
Also talk to the parts Manager and tell him why the return- they may waive they 15-20 percent restocking fee if they know what body shop is going to be calling for those same parts.

^ did you open it?
01TLdud thanks for the explanation. i paid by debit so i guess it would be right to recieve a check...
now, isn't it possible to refund the money to a debit card?? i've ran returns for advance auto parts customers as credit on their debit cards...i hope they got the money back

I never tried to retrun it I used it for my car, he just said straight of the bat, no retruns.
It could of been because they had to special order it.

Most special orders are totally 100% non refundable- they had to order it because only YOU want that part and now they are stuck with it or face restock fee from warehouse
Its possible to put money back into a debit account- within a time frame,
but most places have written policy on the wall regarding returns.
If they did not charge a restock fee- be quiet and say your thanks
Hope the car gets fixed perfect!
