Acura Care vs. 3rd Party Extended Warranties
With all this talk of transmission problems, I have been thinking about an extended warranty for my new 2003 TL-S (My VIN doesn't fall under the extended transmission coverage). Anyone bought an Acura Care policy (the official Acura warranty)? The price quote for a 7 yr. / 100k mile policy is about $1,100 which is only a few bucks more than third party policies (Warrantybynet, 1warrantysource, warrantygold, etc.). What are your thoughts on 3rd party coverage?

Blown is Best
I just bought one from www.acurawarrantys.com. I've got a 99 that's not covered and my warranty is running out. Went for the $0 deductible instead of the $50 and it cost me $1,225. With the amount of things that I've had fixed so far, I'm pretty sure I'll get my money back. I'm usually not a believer in extended warranties but in this case, I'm willing to spend the money for a piece of mind. I plan on keeping my car for quite a while.
Since your car still has a way to go under the original factory warranty, I wouldn't buy just yet. You can add the extended warranty all the way up to the end of 4 year/50K miles. Also if you're going to do it, go with the warranty backed by Honda. You'll have less issues and paperwork to deal with.
