'Acura Care' - How good is it? Do we need them?
Newbie here......just discovered this forum using google.
I'm now a owner of pre-owned certified 2003 TL (with Nav) with 35K miles on it. Bought it a month and a half back and the car has been really smooth to drive.
While I financed my car, the dealer offered me the option of acura care for $29.99/month (since i'm a costco member, I was offered for $19.99/month).
The Question at the top my mind is 'Do I really need this?'
Here is the link of what acura Care has got to offer:
http://www.curryacuracare.com/covera...TOKEN=54279201
I still have 10 more days to cancel the plan and receive full refund
Whatz your suggestion guys?
Your comments are appreciated

First, welcome to the forum...you'll love it. As far as Acura Care, I bought mine for $650 when I bought mine certified pre owned. I'm good to 100K miles. I think it would be worth it, but it seems llike you would be paying much more than me for the same Acura Care. $20 per month times 60 months for example would be $1200! But, think of it this way. If your Navi or VSA goes out, that would be about $1500 to $2500 repair. The tranny is covered for most TL's to 100K miles. Some cars aren't covered, so make sure you check your VIN with your dealer.
I think I got a good deal on my Acura Care back in 2003, so not sure how they are doing it now. But, with all the electronics, sensors, etc, I think you would be wise to have some piece of mind.

I got mine for about 900 on my 03 TL-S brand new... I don't drive a lot of miles, so I am good for 7 years/75K...
Haven't had to use it yet...but I hear only great things about Acura Care, and that it is the extended warranty to get...

Re: Acuracare/Extended Warranties
I gave considerable thought to extended care warranties and concluded they were a toss-up.
These cars are known for their reliability. OTOH, repairs can be expensive.
Warranty coverage can be less than expected, picayune (ie., no repacement fluids) and a big hassle for the mechanic and the owner. Warranty companies go out of business.
(Third-party, broad-coverage extended warranties usually run $1000-$1500 to 100K miles, sometimes further. Cost to the Acura dealer of their 100K extended warranty is around $500, as a local dealer told me!)
Acura is pretty good about reasonable/shared coverage for problems that arise after the warranty has expired, for problems that are documented while the original warranty is in effect.
Some extended warranties require Acura dealer service. I am not impressed with Acura's dealer service and won't be using them after the warranty runs out.
