Post Acura Care Extended Warranty

As part of my planned TL-S purchase within the next 30 days, I'm considering getting the Acura extended warranty of 7 years/100K miles. Has anyone purchased this with their vehicle? I know Acura makes a great car, but it might be a nice insurance policy to have - just in case. I thought someone on this forum said something about pricing options and rebates of warranty purchase amount if warranty is unused. Sounds fishy, I know, but I swear I read it here once.....

Most of the exteneded service warranties leave the dealers a lot of wiggle room. Many times it allows them more profit than selling the car does. If you can, NEGOTIATE the price in the warranty.

Also consider that if they will not budge on the price of the car after you have them down as low as they'll go then have them knock $$$ off of the extended service warranty. They'll do it, they want the sale.

I would think the $700 figure that Indyjenks posted is legit. You would not believe the markup on an extended service warranty!

Hey everyone,
Something I did. To negotiate your extended warranty, go to a few of the online warranty sites and print the warranties off for your vehicle with the price quote. Take your printouts into Acura with you and show them the price for a warranty online. They will usually match it as there is plenty of room to deal on the extended warranties. They want your business at the dealership not elsewhere.

A little info from a fellow Type S owner. I have a CL-S but hey, same family.

Take care
