Acetone?

Needless to say, my sister drove my car and somehow got nail polish on the passenger side dash area. I tried using different sprays to remove it but it wouldn't come off. I then had the idea of using nail polish remover containing acetone. It came off. But also, i don't know if it was dirt or something else but it looked like as though it cleaned the dash area. I was wondering if the nail polish remover could damaged the leather or something?

Yes, it could very easly damage or bleach out the leather or plastic pieces - I'd chill out using it anymore.

Yeah acetone is some harsh stuff. If you want to give your dash or other vinyl or leather areas a good scrub try using a scotchbright pad ( red one) very lightly. I stress the very lightly. Soak it in some cleaner, whatever kind you use. I like the Malco leather and vinyl cleaner, it dosent build up like an ArmourALL would but restores and protects to oem. check out this link to Malco:http://http://www.perfectfit.com/153...l-Cleaner.html

Soft scrub without bleach is good to use on those surfaces to clean.

For my floor mats, i used a zep degreaser and let it soak then powerwashed them and dried them good with a professional shampoo/vac system. Thats what we do at the dealership for dirty floor mats. my parchment came out looking almost brand new. Not bad for a 2003 with 185,000 miles

ha ha yep i bought it with like 71,000 in 2006. has a lot of hard miles but I do take good care of it. had 2 new tranny's put in, but aside from that no major problems. I'm goin to automotive tech school right now and working at a honda dealership and I plan on doing the 6spd swap here shortly.
