accident reassurance

hey im kind of new to this site but yea i got some questions

i bought my silver 99 tl couple months ago and about 1 month ago some old lady drove straight into my front passenger side wheel and scraped it towards the passenger door. the whole wheel alignment is messed up and the passenger door wont open. her insurance company sent it to a body shop but its taking a very long time to get fixed when they told me it will take a week. should i be worried and check up on it or just wait more?

I'm sorry to hear you got banged by an ol' lady! hehe
as to you checking up on your car, hey go for it! after all it is your car and just say you want to see the progress. just keep in mind that it doesn't matter how long it takes them to fix it, just as long as they do it right and back to norm.

you got a rental right?>

I would make an apperance at the body shop. Too many times they have told me things are just about done only to find out it wasn't so. Besides you can also check to see how the quality is on what's been done.

the only thing i dont like it that you stat "HER" insurance sent it to a shop. you should have brought it to the shop you wanted. they usually want you to go where is cheaper, but they dont always do the best work.

in cali you have the choice to take it to where you want. I imagine her body shop isn't using OEM parts or using remanufactured parts - that's bad - lowers resale value from what I've been told, but don't quote me on that.

if they say they're still waiting for parts or something, get the car back and take it somewhere else of your choice. even after you get it back, you can call the insueance commissioner (I think) and have them do an inspection on it; they check for fradulent repair work
