ok... thx for the help w/ the acceleration time, glad i could start a new topic (w/ the odyssey vs. TL, i would like 2 c what wins 2). But still, i'm suspicious y Acura put on they're website... www.acura.ca, that the TL - P does it in 8.2 and Type S in 7.2. They seem sluggish 2 me, so i'll trust u guys.

 

My best guess, though is -
Type S 6.5
TL-P 7.5

That would seem about right to me.

 

Today I went for a bikeride, so I took out the 2 middle seats of the Odyssey. It had 1/4 of a tank of gas. 2 passengers in front.
So, Seat x2 = -100, Fuel = -100, bikes x2 = +50 Passenger = +130 IB.

Total weight of van = 4,400 Ibs.
Against a stock TL w/a passenger and a full tank of gas, the Odyssey would win.

 

One more thing, is there a power difference b/w a '99 TL and an '02 TL-P?

 

'99 TL = 4speed Auto and 216LBS of torque at 5000rpm
'02 TL-P = 5speed Auto and 216LBS of torque at 4700rpm

Acura said that the '00-03 TL-P would do 0-60mph .5 seconds faster than a '99 TL due to the 5-speed auto and the slightly better low end torque due to a free-flowing intake manifold and larger intake valves.

 

cool i got 2002 TL P and from my knowlage TL-P is around 7.2-7.5 i belive .da reason why TL P doesnt ahve good accelerates it is becuase da Traction a FF car always lose traction in da begging
