ABS and TCS light on. need some help! 99tl
well here's the story:
I went to a minuteman car wash and got a car wash from them. Just the basic stuff no underbody wash.
Ended up going to autozone after to get some air freshners since my car stinks like bootyhole.
Leaving autozone parking lot and TCS and ABS lights up, so i go back inside and have them scan the car.... Well the scanner is not picking up anything. The guy is stumped and so am i.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Could the car wash did something to my electronics?
Or did the electrical gremlins finally got to me?

how do you know it didnt get underbody wash--were you watching it?
it got wet underneath somewhere- maybe the wheel speed sensors
does the cruise control work?
many brake codes wont show on standard code readers

to clear all codes and see if they come back:
on passenger side end of dash--open door to see access cover- fuse panel
remove CLOCK fuse for a minute, then insert and drive normal
thats the secret backup power for the ecu,,beyond the one marked ecu!!

The guy asked me if I wanted the underbody wash for an extra 2 dollars and I declined. Im not sure if he ended up giving it to me for free. I unhooked the battery for 5 mins and turned it back on. Same problem.
I'll drive the car more tomorrow. Hopefully stuff will dry out then

next step would be remove front wheels and inspect the speed sensors
can have a crudded wire and happened to fail now or...
worth a look to start on any funky traction lights
removal of batt neg cable for a minute works to clear ecu too
I prefer clock fuse method just so I dont have to enter radio security code or worry about other presets (later models more a concern with that-seats etc)
may take a trip to a brake specialty shop- they own the right scanner to pull abs and other codes
iirc wheel speed sensors show on regular scanner

Well the light ended up going off this morning on my way to work. Drove it there and home with no issues.
Maybe it's a fluke thing.
Or maybe it's my car telling me to sink more money in her.
Anyways I'll report back if it comes back.
Thanks 4tl

FYI: Clearing the ECU (Batt Cable + Fuse) doesnt Clear ABS Codes, Learned the Hard Way.
It Seems if there is an ABS "Code" On its Present at all Times it doesnt Store it Anywhere, Well thats what the Honda Tech guy Told me.
The System Auto-Checks when you Turn the Key to ON then when you fire up the Engine if it Detects something isnt right it will Turn on those Lights and WONT Turn them Off until theres a Fix so theres no Real Way to turn the ABS Light Off except getting the Problem Fixed.
My (ABS, (!), VSA) where all Light Up and it was a loosed ABS Sensor at the Wheel when I replaced my Ball Joints. He said thats a common reason for all those lights to come on, a Faulty ABS Sensor. The Codes only show when the Problem is Present to Read them with the Honda PGM Tester. So theres no Codes to Clear once the problem is Fixed.. He said when the Problem is Fixed those lights will go Off immediately.
