ABS to the rescue

ABS to the rescue
I once complained about the TLS' ABS system because in a 10 mph panic stop it started to slide before the ABS took over. I was worried that in a real panic stop that could be a problem.
Well, a couple of days ago, a young girl in a Honda was pulling out of a JIB Club parking lot, munching on her burger and talking on her cell phone. She wanted to cross my two lanes and turn left. Trouble is, I was bearing down at 45 mph, and close enough that I had to stand on it. Several things flashed through my mind as I observed her leisurely movement into my lane, with her head tilted sideways, oblivious to everthing around her. None of them were good. I didn't hit the horn, so she never new what almost hit her. I think she did catch a glimpse of me, 5 feet from her door, however, and I would give anything to know what her thoughts were at that moment, if she had any.
Anyway, the brakes did their job very well, although I seem to have a little rotor warp now.
