A4 w/ sport package compared to TL?

Hey, has anyone riden in one of the new Audi A4's with sport package? (Sport tuned suspension and bigger wheels I believe). How do you think it rides compared to our stock TL's?

Im trying to find a benchmark b/c I think it feels firm but in a good way thats not jarring. THey also seem to handle really well. How do you think that compares to teins? or koni yellows w/ CT springs?

Im thinkin about changing parts of my suspension to get a tighter feel and a firm yet not jarring ride. My current ride quality is kinda bad. Its jarring pretty much and its completely stock. So Im kind of at a loss of what to do. Any suggestions?

On a purely bump and response basis, I'd say that CT w Koni would probably give you a similar road feel as the A4 w sport.

Now of course, in terms of handling it's apples and oranges.

I've always thought a non-sports package A4 was very harsh as-is. I've driven in both A4's and S4's and they both have a jarring ride; the TL is pillowy by comparison.

I have the 2001 sport package which is equivalent to the 2002+ non sport so I imagine the 2002+ sport package would be quite stiff compared to a stock Type S.

But then again, a stock Type S may as well be a Camry :-)

You guys really think its that harsh?

I think currently my ride is harsh. I guess the only way to describe it is that every bump I feel like my car goes up a bump, then suddenly just drops down. I feel like there is no dampening. Is it becasue the shocks are bad? I tried that test where you push down on the car until you have it goin up and down, then seeing how long before it stops moving, and it seems alright.

i considered the a4 before, but after adding all the options with quattro, it was more than the tl, besides, the one i wanted was the 1.8t and it only had 170hp.

I think the RSX and Integra is "harsh" and the A4 is sporty...I think the A4 and sport package feels about the same as my TL-S with springs only (only talking about harsh)...

As far as handling is concerned, I test drove the A4 sport the same route that I drive my modded TL-S every week of my life, and the A4 will outhandle the TL-S hands down in either quattro or fwd form with the Sport package--hands down better...But I take heart knowing I'll catch it by the next set of twisties. Now A418t81 may be another story...

the rsx isnt harsh at all. My tl with h&r and kyb's rides harder and still cant outhandle an RSX. I have driven an rsx for an extended period of time and let me tell you it was great, i missed my car but not that much.

I owned an RSX-S and modded TL-S at the same time until I got divorced. My best friend has an Integra GSR with no suspension mods. I've driven his car, ride it it frequently and drove my ex's RSX-S a lot...

The RSX-S was more "harsh" for sure...
