I currently own a 99 heathermist TL with 22,000 miles, excellent condition, owe about 13,000.00. Am considering selling and buying the new TL-S. This car has been great to me and love it, but am in love with the new TL-S too. What would be a good price for a low mileage excellent well taken care of 99 TL?

i just looked it up at edmunds.com and they say that you should get about $21,636 for a trade-in and $22,636 to a private buyer...and when the dealer sells it, they retail for $24,349, so if you get $21,000-$22,000 it is a good price...hope that helped!

With only getting 1k more from a private buyer I'd be visiting the dealer and just trading it in to avoid the hastle of selling on your own and avoid doing test drives with strangers.

Another option is CARMAX. I don't know if you have one near where you live, but they pay very close to retail. Because they specialize in high turnover of used cars, they can get away with it. I wouldn't be surprised if you can sell it outright to them for $23k.

I was told by my dealer that they are selling used 99's for 21,000 so they would only give me around 19,000. I owed 11,000 to the bank so 8,000 left over to put down would make my payments way over what I pay now. I needed about 8,000 more. Wasn't worth it.

Man, it really sucks that our cars are going to fetch under $20K on a trade in. However, I'm not disapointed since my BMW will take a dive anyway...much more rapid than our TL.

My friend asked Greenwich Acura about a trade in on his and it was around 21,400 for trade in and retail was like 24k in the book.

His is a 99 Heather Mist w/ Nav and around 33k miles. That's REALLY not bad!

My trade in, a 2000 Silver w/ NAV was 23,500. Still not too bad. I don't think that's too bad either. The dealer said I'd have a very hard time selling the car on my own, because the book was around $26k+ and that's not far from a new TL.
