Hey guys,.. I have regions 1, 2, 4, & 7. I'm working on getting them uploaded again for everybody. Please be patient though. I'm always busy and I just gotta find enough time to get this done. I'll let you know when they are up. If anyone has the other regions floating around,.. I'll post those too if I can get my hands on them.

OK,.. Regions 1, 2, 4, & 7 are now uploaded to the folder. I even included the map graphic to determine which files you need for which states. Sorry if the DL speeds are not that good. Don't know anything about that. I guess you get what you pay for (free).

Does anyone know why my navigation keeps losing orientation? I took my car in to the dealership a while back for some transmission repairs. Shortly after getting my car back the navigation system started acting up. Anytime I try to route out my trip, instead of starting from my current location, the route guiding system tells me to proceed to the highlighted route, which is the location of the dealership.
I have tried rebooting the entire system. I have tried resetting the orientation. I followed all the directions.
Also, ocassionally the Acura logo ends up upside-down, as if I was driving in reverse... ugh!
First post. Needing help.

In the top left corner of your screen where it shows the satellite signal does it show that it is getting a signal? It should first show some yellow bars and then they will go green when it has a good signal. that might be some of the problem if for some reason your car isn't getting a signal.

another question....just got the PCMCIA card adapter. They didnt have any 512 sticks, so I got a 2 Gig. Transferred the files, and the navigation still won't work. Screen stays black for a while. Anybody know what the problem is? Thanks!!

Based on what I've read, only 512 MB CF cards will work.

Some 512mb cards just don't work. I bought a Sandisk and it didn't work. Then I tried one made by Edge and it worked. From my experience it's important that when you buy a disk, do NOT format it using windows. just copy the files to it. i think the formatting can screw it up.

you could have one of either two problems 1) incompatible card 2) formatting may have messed it up. i do not know (and believe me i have looked) for a way to format it correctly. i went through this whole retarded mess a few years ago trying to get my nav to work. trust me the easiest and perhaps the only way is to buy a different CF card - only 512MB will work - and hope it is compatible right out of the box. people have had mixed results with the major brands (Sandisk, Viking, etc.). Edge worked for me, so I bought two while I still could.

Has anyone tried formatting in XP using "disk management" with the setting of "8192" for "allocation unit size"?

I bought a pcmcia to sd card reader and a viking 512mb sd card but am having trouble. When i put it in the car I only get the startup screen and it stops there. should I try a new car like a PNY or edge?

I also don't see why an SD card would not work in place of a CF card. But it's also odd that only 512 MB CF cards seem to work. People have tried larger capacity CF cards and they don't work for some reason.
Maybe it will help to try some of the formatting tips in this thread.

I never needed to play around with the formatting of the 512 MB CF card that I used. But the first CF card I tried to use didn't work. That might have been a formatting issue.

99 Acura TL NAVI HELP!
Well my kingston card was working intill i formatted it and now it stop working for some reason. i format using vista at 8192 and reinstall the region on it and now its just stuck at the world screen. the farthest i got to after a couple of format is press ok to update and it swap screen and said can not read card. any idea on what to do???

99 TL nav help
I have tried many different Acura dealerships between Ga and Fla and have not been able to find the software for Region 8. I was hoping to locate these files. I am tach savy, and will gladly offer any advice I can.

My device has been flakey lately (lots of bad boots). I just bought one of these last week, but have not tried it yet. I lined up a bud with an old Laptop to try copying files. Figured I'd get current on the files too. I'm going to try copying on Monday. If I am succesful, I'll post my old Region 5 files, but they are from 1999.

no no...the link you posted for is of the PCMCIA hard drive itself. The idea is to replace this hard drive that our Acura's came with, with the flash card which is less prone to failures anda cheaper replacement.
Plz do post the Region 5 files if you are successfull copying them
