99 Remote Gone Nuts
Of course, I just turned 100K miles last week, so my blue '99 now has a license to get stupid. . .
Anyway, came out of work today and my remote would not unlock my car. It would lock it (after I unlocked it with the key), and would open the trunk OK. The lignts were "on", but would not illuminate until the key opened the lock.
I figured that the battery was going on it (would lock, but not unlock), so I went back to my office and got a spare battery I keep in my desk for just such an occasion. Changed out the battery, and got the same response from the car (albeit from a greater distance!).
Figuring it was the remote itself gone over (I tend to drop it once every day or so), I used my second remote once I got home. The second remote will lock only the back doors and unlock the trunk - nothing more.
My guess is at this point that I have something wrong with the cat itself rather than the remotes.
I found a previous post that mentioned that there was a hood switch involved with the locking mechanism, but not that it prevented the doors locking or unlocking.
The only environmental aspect that I know my car has been exposed to in the last day (everything worked fine all the long weekend and this AM) is that we have gotten heavy rains today.
Any ideas?

I have a problem when locking the car it wont respond but if i open it it'll work?! I made sure that all the doors were shut tight and it still would'nt work...walked away to see if it would activate the alarm by it self and it did? didnt make sense and it does it from time to time.
